Can you tell us a little bit about your background?

Hi, my name is Radu, I am 31 years old and I’m in the technical team lead position for the Onapsis Assess team. I have 7+ years of experience as a full-stack software developer in cybersecurity teams. 

In the first six years of my career, I was part of a full cybersecurity team composed of malware analysis, pen-testing, traffic analysis, alerting and monitoring, and development. By being a developer in that team I managed to learn a lot of different things both as a developer and as a security specialist by going through a lot of cybersecurity-related incidents and implications. 

My next job after that was as a Security Engineer for the largest marketplace in The Nordics where I worked in Oslo, Norway and I was relocated there for the period. My job was spread the same way, 80% developer and 20% cybersecurity specialist.

During my career, I mentored people, proposed projects, coordinated projects, coordinated students, and managed a small team of developers for almost two years.

What brought you to Onapsis?

At first, I was attracted by the title of the role because it shapes the next step of my career in the cybersecurity area by allowing me to use my knowledge and, at the same time, learn many new skills.

Secondly, the people I met each step while doing the interviews gave me the feeling of professionalism and a human-centric organization in which the company cares about individuals.

What was the biggest factor for you joining the Onapsis team?

The biggest factor is composed of the smaller ones I mentioned before. The role shaped the step in my career I wanted to follow, the people were smart, serious and empathetic.

What are you most excited about to be leading our Assess team in Romania?

I’m excited about using the leading skills I gathered from The Nordics by working in Oslo and being part of the culture and balancing them with the local way of working. I’m happy about continuing to improve as a full-stack developer and be part of the cybersecurity field.

What do you think is the biggest opportunity for the team there?

I see short-term, medium-term, and long-term big opportunities. The biggest opportunity is to be part of building a modern solution to secure ERPs in the best way possible while working as a close team that understands its ups and downs and can rely on each other.
